When I was a little girl, we traveled around all the time. There was no real place to call home and in my heart I began to have a deep desire to have a home that would never change. Maybe that is where I first began to understand some things about my heart!
Part of what I love about the Lord is that I have a PERMANENT home that I will be going to someday and I won't ever have that feeling again. I look forward to that day when I am with the Lord in eternity!
There is also part of me that longs for the day when I can know that even though I mess up, I am welcomed at home. Have you ever had a time that you did something so bad that you thought you could not go home and face your family?
I look around me and I see so many people that are hurting, angry, bitter or just needing to be loved and I have great compassion for them because I know how that feels. Those very people need to come home to the Grace of God and know that they are loved and cared for.
God has such a love for us, His children, that He gave us mercy and grace to abide in. If you are a believer today there is love at the foot of the Cross and forgiveness in the eyes of the Lord. He just wants you to come home!
The Bible says that God draws us with lovingkindness to Himself! He reaches out to that place we are in where we feel we can't be loved; we are not good enough or can never get it right and He draws us toward Himself with love. ONLY God can do that.
Maybe you feel that pull of love from the Lord today and want to make a change in your life and find some peace for your heart! That is what God wants for you too! I discovered long ago that I can't outrun God's Grace! The Bible is full of promise for those who choose to turn toward the Lord and believe what God says.
The Bible says in Psalms 4:8, "I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety."
Only God can make us safe and loved and secure in this world. Our home is with Him and it is my prayer that you know that today!
We can never do anything bad enough that God would not desire us to return to Him and come home to His love and goodness. All we have to do is ask forgiveness for the sin and turn our lives and hearts toward Him!
COME HOME today and dwell with the Lord and feel the security of knowing that you could never do anything to keep Him from loving you!
